sn45.159:2.12 And what are the things that should be developed by direct knowledge?

sn45.159:2.13 Serenity and discernment.

sn45.159:2.14 These are the things that should be developed by direct knowledge.

sn45.159:2.15 And how does a mendicant develop the noble eightfold path in this way?

sn45.159:2.16 It’s when a mendicant develops right view, right purpose, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right immersion, which rely on seclusion, fading away, and cessation, and ripen as letting go.

sn45.159:2.17 That’s how a mendicant develops and cultivates the eightfold path in this way.”
