sn36.19:8.1 And what is that pleasure?
sn36.19:8.2 It’s when, as the placing of the mind and keeping it connected are stilled, a mendicant enters and remains in the second absorption, which has the rapture and bliss born of immersion, with internal clarity and mind at one, without placing the mind and keeping it connected.
sn36.19:8.3 This is a pleasure that is finer than that.
sn36.19:8.4 There are those who might say
sn36.19:8.5 that this is the highest pleasure and happiness that sentient beings experience.
sn36.19:8.6 But I don’t grant them that.
sn36.19:8.7 Why is that?
sn36.19:8.8 Because there is another pleasure that is finer than that.
