sn35.4:1.1 “Mendicants, sights are impermanent.
sn35.4:1.2 What’s impermanent is suffering.
sn35.4:1.3 What’s suffering is not-self.
sn35.4:1.4 And what’s not-self should be truly seen with right understanding like this: ‘This is not mine, I am not this, this is not my self.’
sn35.4:1.5 Sounds,
sn35.4:1.6 smells,
sn35.4:1.7 tastes,
sn35.4:1.8 touches,
sn35.4:1.9 and ideas are impermanent.
sn35.4:1.10 What’s impermanent is suffering.
sn35.4:1.11 What’s suffering is not-self.
sn35.4:1.12 And what’s not-self should be truly seen with right understanding like this: ‘This is not mine, I am not this, this is not my self.’
sn35.4:1.13 Seeing this, a learned noble disciple grows disillusioned with sights, sounds, smells, tastes, touches, and ideas.
sn35.4:1.14 Being disillusioned, desire fades away. When desire fades away they’re freed. When they’re freed, they know they’re freed.
sn35.4:1.15 They understand: ‘Rebirth is ended, the spiritual journey has been completed, what had to be done has been done, there is nothing further for this place.’”
