sn35.163:1.2 “Sir, may the Buddha please teach me Dhamma in brief. When I’ve heard it, I’ll live alone, withdrawn, diligent, keen, and resolute.”
sn35.163:1.3 “Koṭṭhita, you should give up desire for what is suffering.
sn35.163:1.4 And what is suffering?
sn35.163:1.5 The eye,
sn35.163:1.6 sights,
sn35.163:1.7 eye consciousness,
sn35.163:1.8 and eye contact are suffering: you should give up desire for them.
sn35.163:1.9 The pleasant, painful, or neutral feeling that arises dependent on eye contact is also suffering; you should give up desire for it.
sn35.163:1.10 The ear … nose … tongue … body ….
sn35.163:1.11 The mind,
sn35.163:1.12 ideas,
sn35.163:1.13 mind consciousness,
sn35.163:1.14 and mind contact are suffering: you should give up desire for them.
sn35.163:1.15 The pleasant, painful, or neutral feeling that arises dependent on mind contact is also suffering: you should give up desire for it.
