sn12.24:18.1 “Well then, Ānanda, clarify this matter yourself.”

sn12.24:18.2 “Sir, suppose they were to ask me:

sn12.24:18.3 ‘Reverend Ānanda, what is the source, origin, birthplace, and inception of old age and death?’

sn12.24:18.4 I’d answer like this:

sn12.24:18.5 ‘Reverends, rebirth is the source, origin, birthplace, and inception of old age and death.’

sn12.24:18.6 That’s how I’d answer such a question.
