Kemudian, larut malam, sesosok dewata yang cemerlang, menerangi seluruh Hutan Jeta, mendatangi Sang Bhagavā, memberi hormat, berdiri di satu sisi, dan berkata kepada Beliau:
Then, late at night, a glorious deity, lighting up the entire Jeta’s Grove, went up to the Buddha, bowed, stood to one side, and said to him:
"Yang Mulia, Bhante, Nanda—saudara tiri sekaligus sepupu dari pihak ibu Sang Bhagavā—telah merealisasikan kebebasan batin dan kebebasan melalui kebijaksanaan yang tanpa noda. Beliau berdiam setelah merealisasikannya sendiri dengan pengetahuan langsung dalam kehidupan ini juga, karena hancurnya segala noda."
“Sir, Venerable Nanda—who is both the Buddha’s half-brother and maternal cousin—has realized the undefiled freedom of heart and freedom by wisdom. He lives having realized it with his own insight in this very life due to the ending of defilements.”
"Nanda telah merealisasikan kebebasan batin dan kebebasan melalui kebijaksanaan yang tanpa noda. Beliau berdiam setelah merealisasikannya sendiri dengan pengetahuan langsung dalam kehidupan ini juga, karena hancurnya segala noda."
“Nanda has realized the undefiled freedom of heart and freedom by wisdom. He lives having realized it with his own insight in this very life due to the ending of defilements.”
